Dabbling in many musical genres, from bluegrass and folk to jazz and reggae, Umphrey’s McGee delights audiences with their fluid, free-flowing instrumental stylings. The band’s six members—Brendan Bayliss (guitar, vocals), Jake Cinninger (guitar, vocals), Joel Cummins (keyboards, piano, vocals), Andy Farag (percussion), Kris Myers (drums, vocals), and Ryan Stasik (bass)—work together to craft songs that effortlessly move through progressive guitar solos, funk-inspired grooves, and rhythmic blues licks.

Originally from South Bend, Indiana, the group formed in the late 1990s while attending the University of Notre Dame. The band’s name is a riff on lead vocalist Brendan Bayliss’ cousin’s name. After playing shows around town and growing from four to six members, the band released their first official album and played the first annual Bonnaroo Music Festival in 2002.
